After many people marry, they experience a great honeymoon period where they feel so pleased with each other. To the outsider and to you, the marriage looks like the ideal union. You both think that you each share every thought or feeling together anywhere or anytime.

Most people don’t know it, but you can still cheat although you can stay say you love your spouse. People may say that if you cheat on your love it must mean you don’t love them anymore, but this is not true. When someone cheats it actually could mean nothing to the cheater except an exciting experience or it could mean the person is in love with the other person.

Why does infidelity happen anyway? Some people feel that they just cheat because they can because of a weak character and no one, including their partner, will ever know that it happened. Oftentimes in marriages boredom sets in, some spouses feel lonesome and depressed, big arguments that happen a lot, or some want to get even for past hurts.

Many people who do cheat feel uncared for and unloved by their significant other. Low self-esteem may play into the mix, so that when the person is unfaithful they feel a temporary rush of relief that they are noticed. Love does not usually enter into cheating, as it is usually an act of opportunity that the cheater believes will make them feel more content with their sad life.

If the one of the partners cheated in the past, there will be a severe problem with trust. Cheating can be an act of retaliation against a partner for a previous indiscretion. There is usually no attempt open communication regarding feelings, so the cheater goes ahead and cheats to get back at the other partner.

If someone cheats, people automatically assume it must be because the other person looks so attractive. In truth, many affairs begin with people that are ordinary looking or less than attractive. Most times affairs begin because of an ability to connect emotionally that leads to a sexual connection between the two people.

Do spouses ever find out? Some do and some don’t, depending how secretive the affair is. Usually, many spouses are suspicious because they are very intuitive and notice odd or different behaviors from the cheater.

The best way to stop the cheating is to start really communicating with your significant other and let them how you really feel. Is the love still there? Stay in touch with each other and grow with each other with love, kindness, and patience.
