Organizing everything for a baby shower party can be a stressful time. With all the tasks you need to complete from defining the guest list. Traditionally the baby shower cake has been used as the table centerpiece during the baby shower party. Of course there are other options such as a diaper cake but for now we are focused on the edible type of cake. Make an effort to ensure that the cake for this occasion hasn’t just been brought from the the local bakeshop as this could be offensive to the mother-to-be.

It is better if you or one of the guests baked the baby shower cake. Doing so will also assure you that the cake that will be served as a table centerpiece is in accordance with the theme that you have conceptualized.

For those that do not know any one with cake baking skills you can order the cake but make sure it has been custom designed for the baby shower theme. You will also have to order this cake well in advance of the baby shower date so that you can be sure you are getting the style and theme that you requested.

For those that fancy they have baking skills, or or maybe there is someone who can follow the recipe from the cake cookbook as well, it is a much better idea to try and prepare the cake yourself. Doing it this way you get a chance to show your creativity with the design and you always have the option to ask for assistance from friends that are attending the shower. It is also a cheaper solution to help keep down the costs of the baby shower.

If you damage them during this process you will not get the result you are looking for and will possibly have to discard them to the trash.

The diaper cake can also be placed as a table centerpiece. If you still prefer to have a real cake for the baby shower, you can bake or order a simple cake from the bakeshop.

With all the hardest decisions made you need to decide a few more things such as if the males are attending if this is the case then maybe a barbecue could set the scene. Its a great time for all the males to get to know each other while standing around the barbecue. If it is just a girls only affair then maybe just some lite snacks, tea, desserts and a nice punch will do just fine.
