Make sure this garden design is feasible. If you want tropic plants but live in a cold climate then you may have to rethink your garden.
Budgets are important as plants, supplies and accessories can all add up before you know it. If you are only planting a few flowers then a budget may not be necessary but a complete renovation of an existing garden or new garden will be pricey. You also may not be able to get certain plants and need to change your design.
There are two types of gardening you can do, organic or using chemicals. With todays change towards environment friendly you can find many organic products that are not expensive making organic a much more attractive form of gardening. You need to be careful if you decide to use chemical products as they may have harmful side effects or eventually damage the soil.
Most beginners have no knowledge about planting flower gardens so don’t let that get you down. Your garden will evolve as your knowledge increases or tastes changes. It is very easy to fix plants and change things if you are unhappy with how it looks or your plants aren’t doing well.
Once you have done up your design and budget go out and get those garden tools. It is difficult to plant garden flowers without tools! You should also prepare the soil by adding manure or compost to adjust it to optimal soil conditions. You want good soil that will retain some moisture but also drain away any excess water, Compost and manure, also known as hummus, can adjust any type of soil, sandy or clay.
No doubt, your garden will have areas of sun and shade. You will need to choose plants that excel in those types of conditions as certain plants grow well in the shade and others, like roses, need sun. Besides different flowers, shrubs and trees will also have preferred growing conditions and you should investigate this before buying and planting your flowers. With a little research and planning you will have a beautiful garden.
