Tips for Renting a Holiday Apartment in the Balearics

When it comes to holiday apartments in the Balearics you have a number of different options to select from as well as places. You can either choose to stay in a small one that is close to spectacular beaches or in a much large one that is located in the very heart of all the activities that the city of San Antonio has to offer.

Certainly, when it comes to finding and then booking the right accommodation to visit this part of Spain, the internet is the quickest and easiest way of doing this. However, when trying to book such accommodation it is important to take your time and do a little research before hand.

There are sites where you can either book the accommodation directly with the owner or you could use the services of a holiday rental company instead. Certainly, booking through such companies will often provide you with a little more security and some comeback if any problems arise. But when you do decide to book through one of these companies there are a number of things that you will need to take into consideration first. In this article, we look at just what some of these are.

Firstly, when you are booking accommodation through a holiday rental company you need to be aware that you will have to pay a deposit when you book to ensure that the accommodation is reserved for you. On average when making such a booking you will be expected to pay around 30% of the total cost of the accommodation that you are renting. However, you should also know that if you have to cancel at any time after making the booking some companies will only refund a small part of the deposit paid, whilst others may not return any of the deposit to you at all.

However, if you would like to prevent such occurrences then it is a good idea to take out the company’s cancellation protection scheme if they have one. This then means that should you need to cancel for any reason you will get the total monies that you have paid returned to you in full. Normally you will be expected to pay a fee of around of 5% of the cost of your accommodation for this protection.

Although most companies will advertise their rental rates using one particular form of currency, many are more than willing for clients to pay using the currency where they live. But be wary when doing this as the currency exchange rate at the time of booking can seriously effect just how much or little you pay for the accommodation you are booking.

Most people when using the internet to book accommodation for their vacation will pay for it by credit card and this not only saves them time but offers them security as well. But be warned when booking your accommodation and the rate of exchange is high you may find yourself paying considerably more for your accommodation that you would have expected. Therefore, check out the rates of exchange prior to making the booking and see if there are any other ways you can pay and which will prevent you paying over the odds for your accommodation.

How much you pay for your holiday apartments in the Balearics will also depend on where you select to stay. Certainly those that are located in the more popular parts of the island situated around Ibiza are going to be considerably more than elsewhere on the islands. Plus also, the costs of accommodation fluctuate with the time of year you visit. During high season (summer months), you can expect to pay far more compared to if you were visiting during the winter or spring months (low season).
