Holiday Villas In Crete

Instead of staying at one of the many beautiful hotels why not, book yourself one of the many villas in Crete. There are quite a number of advantages to be gained from doing this and one is that you can decide when, where and what you do during your visit to this island in the Mediterranean.

A great thing about renting such property is that in some cases you feel as if you are in a home away from home. Plus it offers you the chance to sample what the locals have been trying to hide from tourists for many years. It also gives you the chance to explore this island and what it has to offer at a pace that suits you.

During your stay on the island, there are plenty of museums and archaeological sites that one can visit and learn everything there is to know about this island. However, although most of them are free to gain entry to there is a few which you will need to purchase tickets for.

Also, you need to be aware that these attractions are not open everyday of the week. For example the Historical Archives of Crete Museum in Chania is open from 08.00 to 13.00 each day except for Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays.

But as well as all the museums and archaeological sites that one can visit on this island there are things for those who are a little more adventurous. If you want, why not take time out of your holiday and enjoy one of the Pirate Ship Tours, which take you to secluded beaches at Marathi or Bali.

During the tour on either the Barbarossa or Captain Hook, stops are made where you have a chance to take photographs or participate in the games organized by the ships crew. To further add to authenticity of the trip all crew members wear full pirate regalia.

The other alternative to spending time as member of a pirate ship is to go on a dolphin tour. These tours take place throughout the summer months and leave from the harbour of Rethymno. You have a choice of going on either a two or 3-hour tour with the much longer one having a stop at the coastal village of Panormo where lunch can be purchased at one of its many tavernas.

As you can see from above staying in Villas in Crete offers you the chance to sample much of what this beautiful island has to offer. Plus there is no need to worry about having to rush back to your hotel for lunch or dinner as you decide when you eat and where.
