When building a swimming pool, cost, maintenance, pool chemicals, and electricity bills are the chief factors to be taken into consideration. Pool pumps are also an important and indispensable part of any pool. They require a lot of electricity, and larger pumps need greater maintenance, which results in greater costs.

Generally, recycling pool water once every 24 hours is sufficient. It is advisable to run a pool pump for a few hours around mid-morning and then again for a few hours in the afternoon or early evening if bugs are getting accumulated overnight. In between these two cleanings, a skimmer mesh should be used for any outside debris that accumulates on the surface.

There are two main types of pool pumps, namely above-ground and in-ground. If individuals are not sure of which pump to buy, they can seek online technical help from experienced persons. Above-ground pool pumps generally have a large strainer basket for debris collection and require very little maintenance. They usually have strong, high performance motors with automatic thermal overload protectors. In-ground pumps have high flow operation for quicker filtering cycles. These pumps offer quiet operation and are ideal as replacement pumps.

Pool pumps are available in different sizes for pools and spas. There are also different types of pool pumps. These are above ground pool pumps and and in ground pool pumps. Above ground pool pumps have a large filter basket for dust collection and require little maintenance. They also have a strong, high capacity motor with thermal overload protector. In ground pool pumps have a high flow action for fast filtering cycles.

Pool pumps are an integral part of any pool because they circulate the water to maintain constant motion, keep bacteria and other germs out of the pool, and help in preventing water borne diseases. Pool pumps also ensure that all the chemicals which are added into the water are effective in killing germs and thus maintaining the hygiene of the pools.
