Used PS2 Games

My son is something of a video game whiz and goes through titles very quickly. Even though I don’t let him sit in front of the television for too long or play with his PlayStation2 until all his homework and chores are done, he still manages to solve a game in a couple of weeks or less. It gets pretty expensive trying to keep up with my son’s skills, so I’ve been trying to buy used PS2 games whenever possible.

It seems that just a few years ago, used PS2 games were difficult to come by — especially the recent or popular titles. It was no problem picking up a game that was six months or a year old, but trying to get used PS2 games that were more recent than that was like trying to find a needle in a haystack. It required going to a lot of different stores, putting my name on waiting lists, and just hoping that one of these stores would call me back soon. That rarely happened, so my son had to either borrow or rent the titles he wanted.

Things are much better now; you can find used PS2 games just about anywhere. Video game trade and resell stores have popped up in local communities by the dozens. Now it’s no problem finding good titles in great shape, without having to go rooting through dark stores or ask about waiting lists. I’m actually having trouble keeping up with all the new titles coming out. If I happen to want a title that is not available locally, it’s not a problem. There are tons of websites that carry used PS2 games and also thousands of people selling their used games via auction.

Sometimes there are better savings to be had online versus at local video stores. Since more people buy the popular titles, there are then more used PS2 games for these titles available, so no one is paying huge dollars to get a title that they know is available everywhere. A bonus is that the online gaming stores have such a huge inventory that they often have to slash prices to clear their stock.

So, if you want to help your gamer out with one, or a few new titles, check online or at local stores for used PS2 games. You can make your gamer happy, and save money at the same time.
