If you’re in the market for a new television on a tight budget, it’s all about TV flat screens. I just picked up my first TV flat screen, and it’s rather amazing what a difference it has made. Even though it is basically the same tube technology as the ones I have been using all my life, TV flat screens provide a noticeably superior picture quality. As an added bonus, they just kind of look cool too; sleeker and more modern looking.

Go Plasma

Perhaps I had been living in a box the last few years when it comes to technology in regards to television pictures, because I had hardly heard of all these advances. The LCD and plasma TVs have an amazing picture quality and are so thin and light, but they also come with a hefty price tag. After assuring the salesperson that I could in no way afford the price tag he showed me what came before these new models, the flat screen TV. These models are built like a regular tube TV, but with a flat front instead of a curved screen which markedly improves picture quality.

Costco Has Great Deals

While there are many electronics stores out there that sell a great selection on flat screen TVs, you may find a better deal at wholesale warehouse stores, like Costco. You won’t find a whole lot a TVs for sale at these stores, but the selection that is there should have very competitive prices. Even if you buy a TV at a wholesale warehouse place and happen to find it cheaper somewhere else you can usually bring them the receipt within 14 to 30 days and they will refund you the difference.

While they don’t always have prices that are better than everyone else, you can rest assured that their price will at least be on par with the lowest prices available out there for what you’re getting.

I bought my last TV at Costco and am quite happy with it. Actually, it was quite a coincidence that I happened to stroll through the electronics department which I normally don’t go through and I saw a model that was bigger than my normal TV and was on sale for a great price. Since I had recently noticed that my old TV was starting to go I thought that it was probably a good time to pick up a new one.

If you’re tired of your old style ‘non-flat’ CRT television and want an upgrade, but aren’t really ready to put down the kind of money you’d need to get an LCD or plasma TV screen, I definitely recommend getting a TV flat screen as an alternative. It’ll look nice and fancy, you’ll notice a definite improvement in picture quality, and it won’t put too much of a strain on your pocket book.
