Most or almost all companies, schools or any institution usually requires all of its members, may it be employees, employer or students to have and properly use an Identification Card for that particular institution, organization or school where they are admitted or hired. Identification card is a type of identity document that will identify, recognize or verify you as part of a group, a company or a school. It is issued as a small, standardized plastic card with your photo in it. In some countries, the use of their Identification cards may be compulsory but to some it may be voluntary.

These may be in form of fingerprint or other biometric information like hair color, skin color, and contours of face.

What if an employee or student won’t use the ID issued to them? What consequences might it bring to her/him and to the institution he/she belongs? Not using the ID properly would cause a threat not only to the institution you work or study with but also to you as part of it. The ID is provided to safeguard you and the institution from any entrance of illegal or fraud persons like thieves through easy surveillance and identification of the criminals more easily. Any unusual person could also be identified once they enter in the institution because he/she/they don’t have the ID of the company.

The ID should be worn at a place where it is easily visible to all. It is not hard to understand. A badge of identification needs to be visible. It is a bare necessity. Different institutes believe in different protocols. Few ask the employees to wear the badge on the shoulder. Others may want the employees to wear it on the pelvic area. The idea is to adhere to whatever discipline the particular organization follows.

One should also take kind care of the identification card even when he moves out of the school or office premise. We should keep the ID in a secure place so that it does not get lost by any chance and it is at your disposal the very next day when you need it. We should keep it away from frauds intending to pose as rightful card holders. We should also keep the card from wetting as the plastic might be destroyed.

Manufacturers must give great value to the making of these cards. These are most integral piece of accessory to us and it is important that they look good and strong. Durability is an important factor. Moreover they should not be cumbersome as they are often included in our grooming. E-cards are presently doing very well.

ID cards can also be used for opening accounts in a bank, receiving or delivering money. Institutions use it for preventing unwarranted entry. Passport offices also check it while making this valuable document.
