Portable units are also perfect for people who do not have large storage spaces. Portable boats can be dried, deflated and stored on a bag or shelf.

Portable units though, are not for everyone. Some people may still feel more comfortable with non-portable rigid boats. That will not be a problem if you have the same preference. You just have to make sure that you have sufficient storage area, proper maintenance tools and appropriate boat or kayak transportation.

Multi-Purpose vs. Single Purpose

Some kayaks are made for a variety of purposes. Some tenders for example can be used for mild sport racing or leisure paddling. Some kayak models too can be used for riding the rapids, fishing and plain paddling. You can opt to have a multi-purpose vessel or you can go for a single purpose type.
