I read quite recently that “staying in” is the new “going out” if that makes any sense. Maybe people don’t have the money to entertain at restaurants and the like as they used or perhaps there are more home entertainment systems that make staying in just as much fun as a night on the town. One thing that takes a bit of beating is watching a good movie on a Friday night with your loved one or family. Sharing your all time favorite movies at home can be great fun. With all the recent technology, our movie watching experience has never been better. Indeed, watching your favorite movie in the new format of blu-ray or HD-DVD on a top range home theater system can’t be beat.
Because of the great technology offered by home theater systems, it is now possible to relax and enjoy great movies without the fuss and crowds of big time movie theaters. Avoid the long lines, high ticket prices, and stale popcorn! Converting a spare room to a home theater is a great idea that will surely be a great experience for all.
You don’t need to be a sound engineer or have any special skills to really be able to choose a great piece of sound equipment for your new home theater system. Go check out an electronics store - you will be please to find out how easy it is, and see that pieces can be configured easily and compiled together to make your home theater a great place to both play and relax.
In order to successfully emulate movie experience in theaters, you need to have the right equipment. Probably the most important piece is the sound system. In theaters, sound can be heard from all around you since the speakers are distributed in a way that sound can come from all directions.
A surround sound system is a familiar concept - speakers on the left and right of the main screen produce great sounds and enhance the viewer and listener experience. Because sounds are coordinated with action in the movie, you should have at least 4 speakers and plenty of quality equipment for splitting up the surround-sound signal and flow to the speakers.
You will need to consider the size of the movie screen and its resolution. So that means you will need a large-screen television of at least 27 inches across, measured diagonally. Better choices if you can afford them are the larger ranges, say 36 inches and above.
to this extent, you should consider the space in which you arrange the components. They can be arranged in many ways, but you should keep in mind how much you want to spend, and how much room you have. Ideally, a separate room with windows that can be darkened is a perfect option but not everyone has the space so often a compromise has to be reached. Experimenting with set ups is the best bet if this is the case.
